Laws of the thriller

This week’s TLS has a terrific piece about the thriller and crime fiction by Sean O’Brien, author of last year’s T.S. Eliot and Forward Prize-winning The Drowned Book. I’d probably like it a bit more if it didn’t use one of my favourite lines, about most crime fiction being more interesting before you know whodunnit, but it’s pretty fabulous piece nonetheless; affectionate, intelligent, and beautifully written.
